"Cowboy Heritage taking America on a Ride of Life Itself; in the name of American Kids."
COWBOYS HELPING KIDS MISSION :
A Cross Country Trail Ride to Aid America's Kids...
Why ride over 2200(+) miles on horseback?
Russell Anderson and the
Desert Cowboys who join him for the thrill and adventure of this journey know this trip is not going to be easy. It takes an
adventurous spirit, determination, skill, and a
just cause to push yourself to complete such a long adventure. There will be delays, breakdowns and setbacks. Those are the times they remember the reason they set out on the journey. The
KIDS!
Cowboys Helping Kids will benefit children in the United States of America. Monetary donations will help numerous charity groups all working towards the same cause,
"Helping Kids", with special emphasis on the promotion of the
'Cowboy.'
What will we do on the trip?
We will collect canned food and non-perishable dry goods; distribute them to local food banks, located along the route, putting the contributions to immediate use.
We will also stop in Hospitals and visit with terminal (and non terminal) Kids who are sick from numerous aliments. One of the most requested things from Kids is to meet a Real Cowboy.
If you know of any child on our route, or even outside of our route, that is terminally ill drop us a line and we will do our best to show up and spend time with them. What is an extra 50 miles when you can experience the smile on a child’s face?
We realize that you have been asked for years to contribute to starving and desperate children all across the world. But, when was the last time you thought about the children right down the street? When was the last time you thought about a child with cancer whose only request is to meet a Real Cowboy and pet his horse? When was the last time you thought about a child in foster care whose parents beat them and sold them for drugs?
America we have our own issues and this is what
Cowboys Helping Kids is all about; dealing with our own problems in our own unique way.
The purposes of these trips are to raise awareness of such needs close to home.
